GOA DIARIES: DAY 1

It was morning time, around 5 AM and I was very excited as my hubby and I were going to Goa for the first time ever. We took off from Bangalore at 8 in the morning and reached Goa in exactly one hour through Spice Jet and after collecting our luggage, came out of the Dabolim airport. Since, it was raining heavily so we quickly hired a cab and reached Rio Resort after an hour long drive from the Airport. My today’s post is a brief of my first day in Goa and a quick share and a review on my stay at Resort Rio.

We had pre-booked our room online for two nights and three days before going to Goa, so upon reaching there and after some formalities, got the keys to the room, had our lunch and quickly went for a nap since we were feeling fatigued. We woke up in the evening and decided not to venture out of the resort. After having our evening snacks, it was the time to explore the resort which was spread over 10 acres and is beautifully nestled on the banks of the Baga river. Despite it’s proximity to Goa’s famous Baga and Calangute beaches, this resort was so serene and peaceful.

The resort has a beautiful landscaped swimming pool, a Zaara Spa to revitalize yourself, a lounge area, a conference room and three multi-cuisine restaurants – Mamma Mia, Pickled Mango and Jalsa which serves lip smacking food. If you want to have Italian food, then go to Mama Mia and for lip smacking Indian food, head to Jalsa. They also had a number of activities which you can go for like table tennis, pool table, board games. I must mention that the interiors of the resort were superb. Our room was tastefully done with an attached balcony and was equipped with all the modern facilities.

Time flew by so quickly while exploring the resort and taking photos and it was almost 8.30 when we decided to go for dinner and wow the Buffet had a wide spread. After dinner, we spent our time at Cafe Rio which is a coffee Lounge serving mouth watering desserts and beverages. Overall, the convenient site and the charming atmosphere with all the comforts one may need, made our stay an unforgettable one at Rio.

P.S. – My stay at the Hotel was NOT sponsored. Views and opinions are as always my own. All the photos are clicked by me.
